DIGICEL PROUDLY UNVEILS TWO REFURBISHED SPECIAL NEEDS CLASSROOMS IN ANGUILLA
Digicel Anguilla proudly unveiled two refurbished special needs classrooms at the Orealia Kelly and Adrian T Hazel schools.
The project – which began in January this year – saw Digicel providing a whole host of amenities to improve the learning environment for the children of both schools.
With a total investment of US$45,000 Digicel equipped the schools with kidney tables and corresponding chairs; six new computers, four printers and radios; 42 inch flat screen TVs with DVD players; starfall reading systems and software; laptops and LCD projectors; student cubicles and storage facilities – as well as carrying out class room enhancements and painting and refurbishing the restrooms and the general environment.
In addition, Digicel has pledged its ongoing support to the special needs facilities of Orealia Kelly and Adrian T Hazel in the coming years.
Minister of Social Development, the Honourable Edison A. Baird, said; “We are thrilled to be here today to see these fantastic new facilities unveiled. The staff of Orealia Kelly and Adrian T Hazel have worked tirelessly to make sure their students get the education they deserve and I would like to thank Digicel for ensuring that they do so in the best possible conditions.”
Digicel Anguilla Country Manager, John Gidharry, said; “Digicel is committed to our communities and committed to helping to drive things forward in a positive way. With that, when we heard about the needs of the facilities at Orealia Kelly and Adrian T Hazel, we were thrilled to have the chance to get on board and give the students the environment they deserve.
“We hope that these newly enhanced facilities will bring many years of happy and successful learning for the students who pass through them – and look forward to our ongoing relationship in the years to come,” continued Gidharry.
