1. Roger Devonish, 31 years, of Phillips Road, St. Stephens Road, St. Michael was arrested by members of the Drugs Squad and charged with for the following offences, in connection with the drug landing with occurred on July 5, 2011, at Shermans, St. Peter, where 380 kgs of cannabis and 10 kgs of cocaine were seized:

1. Possession of cannabis
2. Trafficking in cannabis
3. Possession with intent to supply cannabis; and
4. Importation of cannabis,
5. Possession of cocaine,
6. Trafficking in cocaine,
7. Possession with intent to supply cocaine; and
8. Importation of cocaine
9. Entering other than at a port of entry
10. Disembarking without the consent of an Immigration Officer.

He appeared at the District A Magistrate Court on 16 July, 2011, and was remanded to reappear at the Holetown/District E Court on the July 19, 2011. Other persons were also charged jointly previously with this seizures.

2. Tamar Claudia Mills, 23 year old Jamaican national, arrived in the island on July 12, 2011, by air, and was interviewed by members of the Drug Squad. Subsequently at the QEH, she passed 17 packettes of cannabis, weighing 238 grammes, which she had digested.

She was charged for the offences of:
1. Possession of cannabis
2. Trafficking in cannabis
3. Possession with intent to supply cannabis; and
4. Importation of cannabis.

She appeared at the District A Magistrate Court today July 16, 2011, and was remanded to reappear at the District B Magistrate Court on the July 19, 2011.

3. An accident with injuries occurred about 10.10 pm on the Barrow Section of the ABC Highway, between the Clyde Walcott and the Everton Weekes round-a-bouts.

Involved were;-
1. A motor truck driven by Ding Tain Xing of Crystal Heights, St. James ( complained of injuries to the neck and chest. His passenger Fei Zhan (male) of the same address, complained of injury to his left foot.);
2. Motor van driven by George Hellian, of Bucks, St. James; and
3. Maxi Taxi driven by Tyrone Sandiford of Maynards, St. Peter (complained of injuries to his right knee and left side).
The injured were taken to the QEH by ambulances.
