The West Indies Players Association extends its condolences to the family and friends of Trinidad & Tobago cricketing icon Pascal Roberts. Mr Roberts had a grand career with the Paragon Cricket Club during the 1970’s alongside such players as Prince Bartholomew, Jack Noriega, Richard Gabriel, Leo John, Ron Faria and Bernard Julien. He was a constant during those glory days for Paragon and helped define the club’s legacy as a perennial local contender and champion.
WIPA President and CEO, Dinanath Ramnarine, has fond memories of Pascal Roberts who was a national selector when Mr Ramnarine played for Trinidad & Tobago:
“Mr Roberts always remained involved in the game in Trinidad & Tobago and would always have good, sage advice for young men like myself who wanted to dedicate our lives to the cricket the way that he did.”
“It is a testament to the foundation that Pascal Roberts helped to build in Trinidad & Tobago that successive generations of local cricketers were able to benefit from the principles and aspirations that Mr Roberts himself embodied.”
