Two fatalities per month so far – Careless Barbadians concern Police

Alston Jordan, 68 years of Newcastle, St. John, died at the QEH today, Friday June 2011, of injuries received in an accident.

The Inspector disclosed;- "The driver of J-138 was trapped in his vehicle and was extricated using the “Jaws of Life” equipment of the Fire Service. The driver of J-1220 complained of pain in his right leg while his front seat passenger Corey Nurse, 23 years of Venture #3, Saint John complained of pain to his right hip, right shoulder, neck and forehead."

An accident with serious injuries occurred about 16:55 hours on 2011-05-19 along Newcastle Road, Saint John. Involved were motor car J-138 driven by Alston Jordan of Newcastle, Saint John and motor van J-1220 driven by Lionel Belgrave, 65 years of Applegrove, Black Rock, Saint Michael.

The driver of J-138 was trapped in his vehicle and was extricated using the “Jaws of Life” equipment of the Fire Service. The driver of J-1220 complained of pain in his right leg while his front seat passenger Corey Nurse, 23 years of Venture #3, Saint John complained of pain to his right hip, right shoulder, neck and forehead. They were all transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulances to seek medical attention.
