ICBL Crop Over Heritage Tour of Bridgetown with Dr Karl Watson

The inscription of Bridgetown and its environs as a World Heritage Site has generated tremendous interest among Barbadians. The announcement that Barbados was successful is timely, as on Sunday, July 3rd the National Cultural Foundation will be conducting the ICBL Heritage Tour of Bridgetown.

Registration will be received between the hours of 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday until July 1st, 2011.

The tour which begins at 8.00 a.m. from the Pierhead in Bridgetown will be led by Historian Dr. Karl Watson. Participants will walk along routes in the City which will carry them to prominent landmarks, among them The Screw Dock, Carlisle House, James Fort, The Jewish Synagogue, Cod’s House Site, The Montefiore Fountain, The Old Masonic Lodge and St Mary’s Church among other significant and interesting sites.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn of Bridgetown’s rich and intriguing history.
