Bat Dominates In Clash Between KFC Ellerslie And Malvern
It was a battle of the willow when KFC Ellerslie and Malvern clashed in their second round Zone D match of the 2011 Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) Intermediate competition held May 28, June 4 and 11, 2011, at the Ellerslie Secondary School ground.
Batting first, KFC Ellerslie amassed a formidable total of 294 for the loss of 6 wickets, with Jamon Parris starring with an aggressive innings of 186.
At the crease for just over three and a half hours, Jamon faced a total of 160 balls, many of which he authoritatively dispatched off the square with 27 boundaries and 5 sixes.
Proud of his achievement, Jamon said his performance was the result of years of hard work and dedication:
“I’ve put in a lot of training over the last few years and with KFC Ellerslie’s participation in a number of competitions and overseas tours organised by the coaches and the school, I’ve been able to get in a lot of match practice, which has served me well.”
In response to KFC Ellerslie’s total, the Malvern squad fought hard, but in the end found the task at hand too daunting, and were bowled out for 207, surrendering 1st innings points to KFC Ellerslie.
With only two innings being completed the match ended in a draw, giving KFC Ellerslie their first points of the competition.
This weekend KFC Ellerslie will take on Belleplaine in another keenly contested battle at the Farmers playing field, to be played on June 18, 25, and July 9, 2011 while Malvern will face Oran/Carib Bristol at Old Coleridge
