{FOLLOW-UP} Three Bajans Arrested for 606-Lbs. Drug Bust on Barbados’ Northern Coastline

On Thursday 12 May 2011, about 7.00 pm, a joint operation was led by the Drug Squad of the Force and involved the Barbados Coast Guard, and elements of the RSS, off North Point, St. Lucy, where a suspicious fishing boat was encountered and intercepted by the Coast Guard. This occurred about 300 meters from shore.

As a result, the following persons were arrested and charged for the offences of, possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation:

1. Dwayne Hallam Bolmey, 30 years of 7th Avenue New Orleans, St. Michael. Occupation – Well digger;
2. Stuart Alex Simpson, 29 years of Haggatt Hall, St. Michael. Occupation – Fisherman;
3. Livardo Rogelio Hinds, 20 years of St. David’s, Christ Church. Unemployed.

Hinds also received two additional charges of Possession of a control drug, and trafficking. He was subsequently searched and 14 grammes of cannabis were found on him.

The mentioned persons are expected to appear at the Bridgetown Magistrate Court today Saturday May 14, 2011.

DRUG SEIZURE AT THE BRIDGETOWN PORT

An operation at the Bridgetown Port lasted several hours on Tuesday May 10, 2011, which involved members of the Drug Squad, Canine Unit and Customs Enforcement Unit. As a result, two barrels were handed over to the police on Friday May 13, 2011, which contained 103 taped packages of cannabis, weighing 186 lbs. No arrests have been made, investigations are continuing.

MISSING MAN

The RBPF is seeking the assistance of the public in locating a missing man. He is Othniel Mullins, 34 years, of Colleton, St. John. He was last seen about 08.00 am on Saturday May 7th, 2011 at his home, and has not been seen or heard from since. His clothing is unknown.

Description

Othniel is about 5’ 7”, of stout built, brown complexion, and has a dread locks hairstyle.

Anyone who may have information as to the whereabouts of Othniel Mullins, is asked to call the Police Emergency at 211 or the nearest police station.
