Make sure you contact the correct person for Crop Over when you wish to ensure a Police Presence: Dottin not Hinds, ok?
The Administration of the Royal Barbados Police Force wishes to advise the members of the public of the procedures to be followed when requesting police services.

Now, remember - the application goes to Darwin Dottin and NOT Bertie Hinds, ok? Deputy may be essential but he must recall where he is on the totem pole... Also bear in mind the following;- "Requests for police services should reach the Office of the Commissioner of Police ninety (90) days before the date schedules for the event. However, in cases where the event will require a maximum of three (3) police officers, the request should reach the Office of the Commissioner twenty-eight (28) clear days before the scheduled date for the event."
All requests for police services are to be in writing, and addresses to the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Police Headquarters, Lower Roebuck Street, St. Michael. {BR’s NOTE: This is very probably to avoid any confusion like what happend with Mavado & Vybz Kartel when Bertie Hinds went Ultra Vires and gave permission despite Darwin Dottin clearly saying “NO,” before going on Holiday}
Requests for police services should reach the Office of the Commissioner of Police ninety (90) days before the date schedules for the event. However, in cases where the event will require a maximum of three (3) police officers, the request should reach the Office of the Commissioner twenty-eight (28) clear days before the scheduled date for the event.
On receipt of the request, the promoter of the event or the person requesting the service will be required to visit and discuss with a Force representative, the police resources required to police the event.
Having reached agreement on the needed resources, the person requesting the service will be required to sign an agreement, and pay in advance the estimated cost of providing the police service.
