Central Bank of Barbados to Host CARICOM Governors’ Meeting

The Central Bank of Barbados will host the 36th Bi-Annual Meeting of CARICOM Central Bank Governors at the Grande Salle of the Tom Adams Financial Centre on May 27, 2011.

{FILE IMAGE: Governor, Dr. DeLisle Worrell} The next meeting in Barbados will take place in November. Last year’s meetings were held in the Bahamas.

Governor, Dr. DeLisle Worrell will chair the closed-door sessions. The Agenda will include a report on the recent performance of CARICOM economies as well as presentations on financial stability issues and technical assistance.

About 30 participants will attend the meeting, representing regional central banks, the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Centre for Money and Finance, the Caribbean Technical Assistance Centre, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

The Committee of CARICOM Central Bank Governors, which is an official organ of the regional integration movement, meets twice a year in a member country.
