The Technology expert explained how the data is secure even when transferred from California to Barbados, ha also stressed the need for Barbados to create rather than buy app’s to upgrade its own computer systems.

He gave participants an overview at the Accra Beach resort recently, “Technology in Primary and Secondary Schools”, a lecture hosted by the Information Society of Barbados and sponsored by ABUStar {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR FULL AUDIO};-

Hinds says Art, through Video, can revive creativity in students and Literacy is another watchword when seeking to get young Bajans back to the education standards from before.

Mr. Hinds, the CEO of ABUSstar, revealed how not only Barbados’ Ministry of Education has deployed ABUSstar, (an Education Management Information System (EMIS), but it’s also used in Antigua & Barbuda – it was developed by Mr. Hinds for use by parents and teachers in all primary and secondary schools {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR FULL AUDIO};-

Citing a video made by Coleridge & Parry pupils then sent to Youtube, Hinds commented how under abus-STAR both Parents and Teachers can monitor what becomes Web-Based and why

Wide cross-segment of Barbadians were fascinated by the potential of abus-STAR and what it can do for local children and raising Literacy standards once more

The system is currently being rolled out across the Caribbean, with efforts underway to go further afield – in fact, Hinds does not see himself stopping at just the Schools Management Programme, apart from collaborating on a Calorie Counter with a popular restaurant here, he’s also looking at blending Health and Circuitry{CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR FULL AUDIO};-

The CEO disclosed by collaborating with a local programmer, they are finalising a Touch Screen diagnostic which can recommend what substance is best for use under the right circumstances – this device would be established in select Pharmacies
