REDjet – the Caribbean’s Low Fares Airline, has received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC).

REDjet’s CEO & Chairman Ian Burns remarked the airline’s objective is to be a consumer champion by delivering a safe, secure and reliable service as well as offering the lowest fares on every route and on every flight.

On Friday, April 15th the Director of the Barbados Civil Aviation Department(BCAD) formally issued REDjet with its Air Operators Certificate at the offices of the Barbados Civil Aviation Department. The issuance of an Air Operator Certificate means the airline is well on track for its much anticipated launch on May 8th.

Chief Operations Officer for REDjet Mr. Kevin Dudley said, ‘We are delighted to receive our AOC as this demonstrates our commitment to the safety and security of all of our passengers, crew and aircraft.’ He further stated, “All of us at REDjet are thrilled and this is a major milestone for the region’s first Low Fares Airline.

Mr Dudley went on to acknowledge the professionalism and hard work of the BCAD and their colleagues from other regional civil aviation authorities for their support during the process.

He stated, “I am extremely proud of this achievement and it is fundamental to REDjet’s ability to meet our promises to the consumer but it is only the beginning, as REDjet will be working extremely hard to ensure that the high standards required are met and exceeded going forward.’ He added, ‘The entire REDjet team is eagerly looking forward to May 8th as we welcome our first passengers on board.”

REDjet has received the required regulatory approvals from the Air Transport Licencing Authority of Barbados under the Air Services Agreements between Barbados and other states including the Air Services Agreements between Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago to commence current commercial activities.

REDjet is extremely satisfied with the tremendous response by consumers throughout the region and look forward to delivering the lowest fares in the market. REDjet’s is in negotiation with 13 countries as it looks to build on its route network bringing low fares to even more routes.
