Managing Director of Mount Gay Distilleries Limited, Raphael Grisoni, said the impetus behind the programme was the company’s continued push towards reducing its carbon footprint:

As a responsible corporate citizen we remain cognizant of the impact our manufacturing operations have on the environment and are constantly seeking ways to ensure we play our part to protect it. This recycling programme not only helps us to achieve this by reducing wastage, but also encourages Barbadians to become more environmentally responsible.”

Located in Mapp Hill, St. Michael, Valentino’s Enterprises Limited has been in the bottle recycling business for 25 years according to Managing Director, DaveValentinoBelgrave:

No one on the island provides a service comparable to ours…we are the leaders in recycling bottles and we pay a premium for all bottles returned. We have worked closely with Mount Gay Distilleries over the years and are happy to be a part of a programme encouraging Barbadians to engage more in the important process of recycling.”

Mount Gay Distilleries Limited will be working assiduously to ensure the success of the programme they believe will become an integral part of their operations going forward.
