All Terrain Jeeps, Video Games, Sexy Ladies – all found at AutoMoto 2011

Thrills, spills and plenty action. That is what the motorsports fans were treated to when they entered the first ever Automoto show held at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium on Saturday (March 12).

Electric Avenue offered all patrons a chance to play Video Games as well as have Games on sale plus colourful Blackberry skins

Organised by Barbados Rally Club and Drift Dreams Inc it was an event with a new spin to an old concept. There was something for everyone, motorcycles, cars from all aspects of motor sports in Barbados, from drag racing, to track, to rally, speed events and even radio operated cars were on hand during the all day event. Karl Waterman gave some lucky fans a ride of their life in his well tune Toyota Starlet as he carried them for a ride (sideways) around the cans that were set up. When he eventually brought them back the tyres of the Starlet were simply Smoking, while the passenger could do or say anything, other than produce a smile.

Off-Road Vehicle aficionados showed off their dexterity by parking in Unusual spots

After watch Waterman thrill the fans with his donuts, it was onto some more serious action with the Dexterity Challenge rolling off the line. There were 15 competitors in the event but none more spectacular than the young Dylan Foster who was just nipped by Dwayne Johnson in the end. The crowd left the Dexterity wanting more and that is just what they got as the wall-crawling 4×4 vehicles of the Mud Dogs and Safari drivers put on a display of skill and the agility of their machines.

Tricked out cycles also drew many of the people at this inaugural event

They place their vehicles on the steep ditch at the Gymnasium and then slow took them out… and if you missed it, they did it again much to the amazement of the fans on hand.

Was it the truck's Gull-Wing doors or the Banks Ladies? Either way men were drawn like moths to this burning hot sensation!

And while all this was going on, the weapons of speed preparing for the Sunday morning event in St. George were under going scrutineering in another section of the car park.

Popular for their Mac & Apple equipment, Electric Avenue (Lanterns & Coconut Walk in Hastings) drew many participants with their automotive videogames

If you wanted something other than cars there were booths set up by some of the sponsors of the event and you were even able to meet some of the driver up close and personal and get an autograph. {COURTESY – Adrenaline Sun}
