He disclosed that his company has always had a good relationship with the NIA but stressed that the current relationship is much stronger.

The NIA administration has been moving ahead with holistic development and expansion of the island and we as a company ant to help in playing a pivotal role in all this,” he said.

The Delta Petroleum Regional General Manager speaking exclusively to this reporter stressed that discussions regarding expansion and other critically important issues were discussed with NIA. He said that the discussions were very fruitful, noting that his company would be expanding in both Nevis and St. Kitts later this year.

I am pleased with how discussions have gone thus far with the NIA administration, and I am very confident that a number of issues that needed to be resolved are resolved, so that we can move ahead with our planned expansion. The public is aware of the enormous projects and initiatives that we have already been implementing within the communities, and as the Regional General Manager, we’re committed to working together with the government of Nevis in helping to develop and enhance the communities that we operate in,” he said.

He promised that to roll out a number of expansion initiatives, adding that they are geared in ensuring that a better and more effective service is provided to the people of both islands.

Meanwhile, a source close to NIA said that like Sylvester, they are pleased with the manner in which the meeting went. The source said that NIA is pleased with the way in which Delta Petroleum has been conducting its business, stressing that they hope that this trend would continue. “Delta Petroleum needs to be commended for what they have been doing, and I am confident that the NIA is pleased with the company’s track record,” the source said.

The source added that it would be nice to see other corporate companies emulating, in terms of giving back to the community, while seeking to forge a stronger and better relationship. “There are a number of companies who makes meaningful contributions to the development of Nevis economically, financially and socially, and I believe that it would be nice to see more coming on board doing what Delta Petroleum and other company does,” the source said.
