BRIDGETOWN ROUTES & PARKING DRASTICALLY CHANGED THIS WEEKEND – TRAFFIC REGULATIONS FOR AGROFEST
To facilitate the easy flow of traffic in and around Constitution Road, the Royal Barbados Police Force has implemented a number of changes for Agrofest 2011, which will take place from February 25 to 27, in Queen’s Park.
Constitution Road will be one-way, with vehicular traffic flowing from Crumpton Street east towards the Mencea Cox Roundabout.
There will be two-way traffic from the Mencea Cox Roundabout to John Beckles Drive. Only public service vehicles will be allowed to use the Nursery Drive entrance opposite the Governor’s gate. However, Transport Board buses will be allowed to traverse their regular route towards the Fairchild Street Terminal.
For the duration of the exhibition, parking will be allowed on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital pasture, while on February 25, tour buses and other transport will use the Weymouth ‘B’ pasture to drop off and collect school children.
Parking will not be allowed in the following areas: Constitution Road, Halls Road, Martindale’s Road, Belmont Road, John Beckles Drive, Nursery Drive, Ellis Road, Crumpton Street, and Roebuck Street from Weymouth to the traffic lights at its junction with Crumpton Street and Pinfold Street.
Police officers will be on patrol and stationed at various roads and junctions to manage pedestrian and motor vehicular traffic.
