Barbados was honoured with the prestigious “Best in Show” award at the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s 54th Adrian Awards for its “Long Live Life” advertising campaign.

The award was received by Austin Husbands, Deputy Chairman of the Barbados Tourism Authority in New York during the integrated North American Campaign program that showcases the special qualities of the island and features visitors immersed in the sites and spirit of Barbados.

Winning Best of Show is a testament to the quality of our work and the excellence of our tourism product,” said David M. Rice, President and CEO of Barbados Tourism Authority. “Barbados offers the best that life has to offer in a country that embraces tourism as its heritage and gift to the world.” The campaign highlights the unique offering of Barbados – a rich mix of history, nightlife, extraordinary dining, near perfect weather and over 100 kilometres of stunning beaches.

The recently launched website is a key element of the program and features “Life Lessons” videos starring well-known Barbadians talking about the island’s intrinsic traditions and its history, such as “How to Lime,” “Wukking Up,” and “The Perfect Rum Punch.” The campaign was created by the BTA’s North American ad agency, MMG Worldwide. They have managed the Barbados account since 2009.
