“Maxed Out!” New Edition of Bajan Reporter’s “Devil’s Advocate – Rants of Barbados”

Raquel Williams is posing a claim that if you went to the Dictionary and looked up "Innovation" that Owen Arthur's face would not be found if based on his Budgetary reply to DLP's Chris Sinckler - what do YOU think?

Long before Owen Arthur called for a Commission on the economy in his budget presentation of November 23rd 2010, US President Barack H. Obama had established a ‘Bowles-Simpson deficit reduction Commission’ and right here in Barbados, Mia Mottley had called for the establishment of a ‘Joint Select Committee of Both Houses of Parliament on Finance and the Economy,’ even before that.

Even when Owen Arthur said recently: “we have a lot of work to do,” that was not original, as Mr. Obama had uttered those exact “same” words in 2008. I couldn’t help but also notice that in the recent budget, Mr. Arthur said that the economy needed restructuring, a call made long ago by Clyde Mascoll and also by Mia Mottley who has actually outlined a blue-print for a new politics and a new development path for Barbados.

Is it that after 14 years as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Barbados, Owen Arthur is merely repeating what others have said and are saying because he has no new ideas of his own?
