Ras Akyem-i Ramsay has been invited to work with Master Printmaker Michael Costello of Hand Graphics in Santa Fe, New Mexico in January 2011.

Unfortunately, the exhibition,"living downstairs" schedule for 5 to 10 December at Parliament's West Wing has been CANCELLED by the sponsors,The Commission for Pan-African Affairs.

Costello has been working with some of the most important African American artists/printmakers in North America, including well known African American artist/printmaker Ron Adams.

Over a scheduled two week visit, Akyem will be creating all new original work using Monotype, Intaglio and Lithography printmaking techniques.

art-aniMAL will be pre-selling work that will be created during this short residency. There are 10 available at the PRE-SALE price of $600 USD… these ten (10) works will be distributed in a Unique Lottery format, this means that a lottery will take place and the person holding the #1 position will get to to select one piece from all of the work that was created in Santa Fe or one from the edition of 30 that will be created. This is an opportunity that any Collector or persons with Caribbean art interests will not want to miss, especially since the monotypes have the same value as a painting. (non-multiple)

Please visit Facebook if you have any questions or are interested in acquiring one of Akyem's works.

Presently we have only 8 available for the pre-sale/unique lottery opportunity. When the work is released for public offering, prints from the edition will start at $800 USD.
