Soul Train Awards ‘Best Reggae Artist‘ nominee Mr. Vegas has been added to the first annual Soulfusion, the official Soul Train Awards pre-show concert tonite at the Atlanta Civic Center in Georgia.

Mr. Vegas is expected to drop his fifth studio album in early 2011. A seasoned performer, Vegas wowed international audiences this year at Howard University's highly anticipated annual Yardfest, and On the Reggae Tip, hosted by New York's Hot97FM. He also delivered rousing performances at Summerjam in Germany, and Rototom Sunsplash in Italy recently.

The Reggae superstar will share the stage with soulstress Erykah Badu, Hip Hop giant Rick Ross, R&B siren Chrisette Michelle, and Hip Hop icons Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, and Arrested Development for a funky blend of rhythm and culture that will kick-off this year’s Soul Train Awards. The awards ceremony will be held at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center on Wednesday, November 10th, and broadcast on both CENTRIC and BET on November 28th.

Vegas joins megastars Alicia Keys, Usher, Drake, and Sade as a prestigious 2010 Soul Train Award nominee. Earlier this year, Vegas was also nominated for Singjay of the Year, and his uplifting Dancehall anthem “I Am Blessed” was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2010 Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards in Jamaica.

It is an honor to be chosen to represent Reggae and Dancehall at Soulfusion, and to be nominated for a Soul Train Award,” states Clifford ‘Mr. Vegas‘ Smith. “I strive to create authentic Caribbean music that people around the world can relate to and enjoy. I am humbled and honored at the Soul Train nomination, and at the opportunity to perform with such great artists at Soulfusion.”

Vegas has earned international acclaim with radio zingers like “Hot Gyal Today” with Sean Paul, “Tek Weh Yuself,” and Billboard charting singles “Heads High,” and “Hot Wuk,” which sparked an international dance craze of the same name. His single “Gallis” is bubbling on urban stations throughout the U.S. like Hot97 and Power 105.1 FM in New York, Miami’s 99Jamz and Y100 FM, and 93.9 KYSFM in DC. Recently, Vegas released the uptempo romp “Boy Shorts,” with R&B singer Teairra Mari.
