Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s statement on Wednesday’s closure of businesses until 1 p.m. due to State Funeral of former PM David Thompson

Executive Director Lisa Gale & BCCI President Andy Armstrong recently conferring at Hilton Barbados

The Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports the proposal for businesses to close until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010 as a mark of respect and to allow staff the option of participating in the proceedings of the state funeral of the late Prime Minister.

The Chamber recognizes that certain essential services/businesses will be required to operate and encourages them to do so in a manner which still shows respect for the occasion.

The BCCI again takes the opportunity to extend its sincere condolences to the family and Cabinet colleagues of the late Honourable Prime Minister David J.H. Thompson.
