A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE WARNING AREA…IN THIS CASE WITHIN 24 HOURS.

TOMAS IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NORTH WEST AT NEAR 17 MPH…28 KM/HR…AND ON ITS PRESENT TRACK IT IS EXPECTED TO PASS 70 MILES…..113KM TO THE SOUTH OF BARBADOS DURING THE EARLY HOURS OF TOMORROW SATURDAY

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO NEAR 40 MPH…65 KM/HR…WITH HIGHER GUSTS. CONTINUED STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 45 MILES… 75 KM… FROM THE CENTER.

ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 998 MB…29.47 INCHES.

TOMAS IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE TOTAL RAIN ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES…WITH POSSIBLE ISOLATED MAXIMUM AMOUNTS OF 8 INCHES…ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE WINDWARD AND SOUTHERN
