Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry mourns the passing of Rt. Hon. Prime Minister David Thompson

{FILE IMAGE: Executive Director, Lisa Gale} "He will be remembered, among other things, as a true statesman and for his contribution to strengthening the family unit within Barbados. May he rest in peace."

The President, Council and Secretariat staff of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry wish to take this opportunity to extend our deepest condolences to the family of our dear departed Prime Minister The Right Honourable David Thompson.

The nation has lost a Prime Minister and perhaps more importantly his family has lost a husband and a father.

The members of the Chamber mourn along with the rest of Barbados at this time and we pray God’s continued strength and guidance for his beloved wife Mara and daughters Mischa, Oya and Osa-Marie.

His passing has no doubt impacted upon all of us as Barbadians and he will be greatly missed.

The Chamber was honoured and fortunate to have Mr. Thompson speak at our Business luncheon each January for the last 3 years and we have long enjoyed a good relationship with him and his Cabinet.

As a mark of respect, the Chamber has postponed its Business Luncheon, originally slated for Wednesday, October 27th, until further notice.
