Many have suspected over the past few weeks, but only today was it confirmed by the Prime Minister’s personal physician – David John Howard Thompson has ‘carcinoma of the pancreas‘ or in simplified terms – Pancreatic Cancer, Mr Richard Ishmael gave an islandwide update via CBC TV & Radio as well as Starcom Network and we relay his testimony as a service for all Barbadians {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR FULL AUDIO, PT 1};-

Belleville specialist, Richard Ishmael in a nationally broadcast statement at 11 o’clock this morning said the Barbadian leader’s diagnoses was confirmed last month during Thompson’s second visit to the Presbyterian Methodist Hospital, NY state.

The first part hints the tumour seems inoperable, but Mr Ishmael says after exhaustive consultation, there appears to be hope in restoring PM Thompson to some degree of normalcy {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR FULL AUDIO, PT 2};-

After seeking advice from three leading pancreatic specialists, a decision was made to combine medical treatments with chemotherapy to shrink the tumour before applying surgery to remove it. Mr Ishmael said the Prime Minister was responding to medication and treatments, and in his view the PM can continue to lead the country in so far as his debilitation allows.

After the Conference, normal transmission on all stations resumed, without any opportunity for any Media to pose further questions. Here’s a reaction from the Hon.
