True Blood’s Bill Compton readies for Season 4 with HBO & signs prizes for the “Stephen Moyer Kids Theatre Fundraiser”
As an ex-officio member of True Blood’s Trans-European fanbase, I am in occasional direct contact with their Admins (US & World Cup Finalists: Holland), which is a thrill as I am now privy to an exclusive item for Barbadian “True Blood” fans! Stephen Moyer as most would know, plays Southern Vampire Bill Compton, in real life he and Anna ‘Sookie Stackhouse‘ Paquin are dating – however, when not hanging around together, he does other cool things like raise funds for various charities, including this one;-
Earlier this year Brentwood Theatre opened a special fund named after the theatre’s patron Stephen Moyer: the ‘Stephen Moyer Kids Theatre Fund’. All the donations made to the theatre by fans of Stephen Moyer will be collected in this fund and will be used for the production of the children’s Christmas show and to provide low-cost transportation for the children.
Last year’s show, ‘The Twits’, was a huge success and thanks to the generous donations made by Stephen Moyer fans hundreds of children had the opportunity to enjoy an enriching, live theatre experience. The children who attended ‘The Twits’ sent the most touching, joyful letters of thanks.
This year’s goal is to bring even more children to the theatre to enjoy the 2010 Christmas production of ‘The Plotters of Cabbage Patch Corner’. To be able to do this several thousands of dollars are needed and we are excited to announce that we will help raise at least a part of the money that is needed.
So how much money was raised? What about the autographing of the loot? There’s more;-
The “Stephen Moyer Kids Theatre Fundraiser” went off to a flying start with almost 50 bricks sold and $1450 raised in just the first 2 weeks. Thank you all so much for your donations!
Lynnpd and myself met up with Stephen Moyer on Thursday (June 24) in L.A, well… Lynnpd was the hostess and thanks to modern technology I was present via Skype. Skype is great of course, but I did miss out on the kiss and the hug that Lynnpd got… maybe next time.
While Lynn got him something to drink he immediately came over to me and started talking football (soccer for you USA peeps). England passed on to the next round of the World Cup by sheer luck and no thanks to the goal keeper who turned out to be a player of Stephen’s favorite team West Ham. Ouch!
We presented Stephen with the merchandise to sign that we will be giving away as prizes in the fundraiser. Stephen was so kind to bring two more items with him for us to give away, one of those being a True Blood season 2 DVD signed by both himself and Anna Paquin. Stephen was very pleased to hear that the efforts of the Stephen Moyer Webring in support of “his” Brentwood Theatre are so successful.
While signing the t-shirts, which is a lot harder than it seems, Stephen told us that there are only four days of shooting left on the season 3 finale and that he would be doing a scene that very night together with Alexander Skarsgård (“but not in a bed”, he added jokingly). The night before he was on set with Deborah Ann Woll, Jim Parrack and Alan Ball who wrote episode 12 this year.
Having only seen the first two episodes, Stephen is looking forward as much as the fans to seeing episode 3 this Sunday. He says that it will be great season for everybody, pretty dark, but great.
He really likes “Badass Bill” and so do we!
Although Stephen admits to be horrible at keeping secrets, he didn’t reveal anything about his storyline for season 4, which is already in the making.
But with Alan Ball you’ll never know what will happen next. “Whenever Alan tells me something, it’s never what I expect it to be, because Alan is weird”, Stephen says laughing. “Whenever he tells me something I think ‘wow Bill’s going to do this and that’ and then what you actually get from Alan is so twisted and odd and so different from what you thought it might be that I have tried to stop imagining what he’s going to give me.”
We will be showing you all the shoutout video and the signed items in the next couple of days.
