I was somewhat surprised when I made an observation over one of the guest exhibitors that they seemed deserving of an Honorary Mention, one of the Judges said to me this person was a foreigner and had not been in the island that long, what really took the cake in this exchange is the Judge in question is a naturalised Barbadian and has no Bajan accent all of now, LOL!

This same Judge has a severe attitude problem – I was writing down the names of artists and their works and this character snaps I should be leaving now… So I snapped back in no less fervour they should be grateful for the coverage since if no one was interested then there’d be no need for them in their current capacity – please note: it’s nice to be important, dear-heart, but it’s more important to be nice, got that?

This was confirmed by Mr Ifill after a presentation was made of a donation of $40,000 from the wife of the Central Bank Governor to the NCF’s CEO Dr Donna Hunte Cox.

The contest runs from July 5th to August 9th, as confirmed by Dr Hunte-Cox {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR AUDIO};-

The visual arts – held at the Central Bank each year from 1994 except for 2002 – usually has an average of 50 artists competing, by increasing the venues, a total of 102 artists will vie for prizes this year.

Here’s hoping that whosoever genuinely qualifies for winning is actually provided the chance to be victorious, simply put? Good luck, you’re gonna need it!
