CASTING CALL FOR LOCALLY PRODUCED SITCOM – [Barbados] Saturday 24th July 2010 at 9:00am to 12:00pm, 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Casting Call for the filming of the pilot episode of a locally produced situation comedy “Keeping Up With the Joneses“.

Written and Produced by Rommel Hall. Produced by Shane Holford. Filming is slated for August 6th – 9th 2010.

Auditions will take place at Kingdom First International Church, Black Rock, St. Michael (next to Chefette Black Rock) on Saturday 24th July 2010 at 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm – 4:00pm.

  • The Story

Sailbourne Entertainment (a European film production company) randomly selects the Jones family to be the subject of their documentary “Life and Times in the Caribbean”. It requires that a camera crew follow the family around for 6 days after which the family would receive $10,000US. Irving (the patriarch of the family) signs the contract to do the show against Angela’s (his wife) wishes. Now, Irving, Angela, Tracy (their 15 year old daughter) and Nathan (their 7 year old son) have to coexist while trying to look good for the camera amidst awkward moments and embarrassing encounters.

IRVING JONES: 42, Patriarch of the Jones family and owner of IMJ Construction Inc.

ANGELA JONES: 40, Matriarch of the Jones family and Financial Controller of Bargain City Supermarket.

TRACY JONES: 15, Daughter of Irving and Angela Jones. She prides herself on being intelligent and independent.

NATHAN JONES: 7, Son of Irving and Angela Jones.

  • Secondary Characters

ROBERT WILLIAMS: 28, Attorney-at-Law hired by Sailbourne Entertainment to ensure that the Terms and Conditions of the “Life and Times in the Caribbean” contract are adhered to.

CALVIN MILLER: 18, Tracy’s boyfriend and regional 400m champion.

MICHAEL WILLIAMS: 45, Pastor of God of Zion Church which the Jones family attends.

JEFF SIMMONDS: 20’s, Lazy IMJ Construction employee

PATRICE JOHNSON: 30’s, Payroll Clerk in the accounts department of Bargain City Supermarket

KEISHA YARDE: 20’s, Receivables Clerk in the accounts department of Bargain City Supermarket

BRIAN PARRIS: 20’s, Accounts Clerk of Bargain City Supermarket who has a crush on Angela.

GAIL MURPHY: 20’s, Payroll Clerk in the accounts department of Bargain City Supermarket and resident gossip who seems to be jealous of Brian’s infatuation for Angela.
