Visa Applicants Affected by LIAT Strike will now be allowed for Walk In Appointments

The United States Embassy for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean is doing its best to accommodate visa applicants who would have missed their visa interview appointments because of the ongoing LIAT strike.

The Consular Section of the Embassy is advising that all applicants who have missed their interviews due to the strike may come for their visa interview any day, without an appointment, once they are able to travel again.

Such applicants should come to the Embassy between 7:30am and 10:30am, or at 1:30pm on any day the Embassy is open for business.

Applicants are asked to bring their visa appointment confirmation page and proof that their flight was cancelled. The Embassy will accept such walk-in applicants until July 16, 2010.

As a result, the Consular Section advises that there is no need to contact the Embassy to reschedule visa appointments.
