Dr Persaud launched the Barbados branch of CaPRI: Caribbean Policy Research Investment. In his opening address before Zheng Zheng of CIDA cut the ribbon, he looked at how the BP Oil Spill and the Tivoli Gardens massacre may affect the Caribbean being viewed as an ideal investment venue, but the region has to rise above it, he wants to see the Caribbean as a well-read and literate society once more. CaPRI’s main headquarters are in Jamaica.

[…] here: Launch of Barbados Branch of CaPRI ? Dr Avinash Persaud's address … animals, barbados, books, caribbean, cricket, culture, entertainment, gossip, medical, opinion, […]
Actually, the name is the Caribbean Policy Research Institute. It was founded by Dr John Rapley, then of the University of the West Indies Mona Campus in Kingston, Department of Government. He now chairs CaPRI. John writes a great foreign affairs column in the Gleaner newspaper.
Thanks much Emma.
We had asked the publishers to correct our name, as well as that of Mr. Zheng Zhang who kindly assisted us in the ribbon cutting on behalf of CIDA.All corrections done now, Dale Carnegie said the sweetest sound is a person hearing their own name… It’s why so many institutions have such and such in front of the building’s purpose, e.g. LE Sandiford Cultural Centre.
However, Mr Carnegie also observed that if ten sums are on the board and only two are wrong, then Human Nature only spots the two wrong and not the eight which are right, in other words – publicity is publicity and that’s free promotion. So? You’re welcome! Get it? (Then again, Dale Carnegie also says “Expect Ingratitude”)
Finally – the ‘publishers’ never heard from Ms Levy until now, and I also checked the youtube page where the video originally emanated, so did you e-mail us directly? Must’ve dropped in the Spam folder or something so…
