Canadian Investor confirms what Barbados Free Press already knew – Attacks in Boscobel, Bob Verdun speaks out in George Street headquarters: 1 of 3

Barbados Free Press did a number of articles on the Road Toll gang in the north of Barbados, even down to when the Prime Minister (may he get well soon) sought to heavily downplay any such attacks before the mainstream media decided to grow testicles and examine the issue and not credit the blogs as per the norm?

However, until now, no one confirmed the matter independently – until Bob Verdun that is… Invited by stalwarts of the ruling Democratic Labour Party, he offered 15 ways Government can improve the Tourism product without spending a penny (or seeking a loan abroad, maybe) at the George Street headquarters over the weekend.

Everyone knows 3 Esses, right? Sun, Sea & Sand… One of the points Verdun was emphasising was the 4th “S” which is Security, and to prove it he touched on his very unpleasant experience in the northern part of Barbados {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR AUDIO CLIP};-

Verdun explains how he passed through Boscobel and encountered young fellows supposedly playing Road Tennis who said Verdun’s lost and they will ‘find’ him for a fee, Verdun vows not go by that part of the island again.

So if there’s an open admission of an extortion racket which can seriously hinder Barbados’ Tourism product what exactly will Government do now? Wait until a visitor is seriously injured or worse? How can Police respond when their resources are seriously stretched to the max?

Again, the Canadian has a suggestion, which involves all the fancy real estate eating up our fields and hills (allegedly) beyond recall {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR AUDIO CLIP};-

Mr Verdun believes if any property is over $2 million in value then a 1% property tax should be instituted to offset expenses of tertiary education for cops in Barbados.

This obviously a suggestion that rich foreigners will enjoy hearing, plus how long will it take to create the necessary legislation and when will it be enforced and how?

Another gray area where the investor decided to lob another cat among the pigeons is to level a serious accusation at most jet ski operators, while he is aware that Simon Cowell is one celebrity who enjoys such a ride while here for an annual recharge, he is among the few and far between. According to the DLP’s guest lecturer, the profile of most visitors to this island do not fit that kind of personality, thy’re more likely to look for secluded performances and dining.

Verdun believes that most operators of the seafaring vehicles could fill Barbados’ Most Wanted posters {CLICK ON FOLLOWING LINK FOR AUDIO CLIP};-

Verdun seems to feel that most jet ski businesses are fronts for either illegal narcotics or making criminal gains appear legitimate.

When next we look at this lecture, we’ll give you a roll-call on the attendance list – past & present, and in the final installment, we examine when Barbados Free Press made research where Native Canadians made some heavy accusations on Bob, were they right or wrong? What does the current Football World Cup have to do with Barbados? It’s about Bob’s noise fetish and we’ll show you how they may be connected…
