Amazing who finds me and for why, somehow this got in my Spam Folder and had to re-route, I feel it’s fairly important, so here goes;-

I’m in need of your assistance in locating personnel who worked at the U.S. Naval Facility from the time it opened in 1957 until it closed in 1979:

There is a reunion being planned for early June 2011 – more details will follow in the Fall of 2010.

This will include past US Naval Personnel, their dependents as well as local civilian personnel.

Anyone with family or friends who have worked at the base or have any old photos of the base are asked to contact me at navfacbarbados@live.com

Mostly in need of help finding Local Civilian Personnel.

I hope to have a spot in your newspapers to reach all associated.

Brief Overview:

Naval Facility Barbados was commissioned 1 October 1957.

One of the many underwater listening stations that were part of the Sound Surveillance System (SOSUS) which were used to track Soviet submarines and was decommissioned on 31 March 1979.
