After a year’s hiatus, Horizon Helicopters has relaunched its aerial service.
“We used the period following the downturn in the economy to re-certify the operation as mandated by the new Barbados Civil Aviation Act 2007, and to restructure and refinance the operation“, states Managing Director and Director of Flight Operations, Capt. Paul Archer.
“Re-certifying as a Commercial Air Operator is an extremely cumbersome and onerous process, that takes years sometimes. Horizon Helicopters is now certified to the International Civil Aviation Organisation world standard; that is, our Quality Systems, Safety Management Systems and Training and Operations structure are on par with any major airline such as Virgin, British Airways or American Airlines, and our organisation can meet or surpass the standard of any government or client audit“.
At present Horizon Helicopters operates a Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter, and plans are afoot to acquire and operate a larger aircraft in the near future.
Horizon Helicopters offers a 7 day a week service, based at the Barbados Concorde Experience Hangar, Grantley Adams International Airport, Christ Church.
