The 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Queen’s College Association was held on January 30, in the School’s Lecture Theatre, Husbands, St. James. While the election of the 2010 Executive Committee was an important part of the agenda, the attendees were pleased to hear from principal Dr. David Browne as he gave a detailed account of the school’s activities and achievements during the 2008-2009 school year.
Dr. Browne drew attention to the excellent scholastic results, including a record number of Barbados Scholarship and Exhibition winners. Queen’s College also performed at a very high level in various sporting disciplines, despite being somewhat hampered by the lack of a sports pavilion. Mention was also made of the Queen’s College Strategic Plan 2009-2014, and the Report of the Teachers’ Professional Day 2009, with the theme: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.
