Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone a joyful and prosperous 2010 on behalf of the Barbados Arts Council.

As we go into this new year of 2010 we look to refresh, stimulate and work on new ideas to take us forward.

The Barbados Arts Council has been open, through thick and thin, for an amazing 50 plus years. It is one of the oldest arts organizations in the Caribbean.

We are now working on inviting former members to return to the fold and to also encourage new members of the younger generation.

To do this the Executive of the BAC has decided to have an amnesty on outstanding yearly membership fees from February 1st 2010 until March 31st 2010. The effect of the amnesty is that for those members who are long overdue, it wipes out the obligation to pay for the previous years.

Former members who have not kept up their membership and then have discovered that they may owe many years of membership may have decided to decline. We are hoping this will encourage you to come back. We need you.

The membership is a mere $40 per annum.
The BAC only takes 25% commission, plus a very small hanging fee.
Shows change every month.

The membership form may be either:
Picked up from the BAC Gallery
Downloaded, printed, filled out and posted or dropped off to the gallery with the annual fee. The form may be found on

  1. Thank you Ian for putting this in your news. Again supporting the arts.
The BAC has had so many of our established artists come through the institution and we would like to have as many of them join again and help the arts to flourish.
And we are also encouraging new members to join.
    Students from Community College.
People taking up art and classes.
    All ages and stages welcome.
BAC has Group shows where established artists hang next to newcomers.
    Come join the BAC!
