Mark your calendar for April 24, 2010, Napa’s Earth Day evening celebration: “Reggae in the Valley” Festival with David Kirton from Barbados, Ras Indio from Belize, Ishi Dube from Humboldt—all backed by Million 7 Crew, Mystic Roots from Chico and Napa Valley’s own reggae band, C.R. Vibes.

A destination that should not be missed, this Wine Country is the most widely visited Valleys in the country as a wine and dining epicenter mecca.

Event producer James Byrum of Calendar Guy Productions says that “we plan to turn this valley into a music mecca as well.” Event is sponsored by 1440 KVON & 99.3 THE VINE, Reggae Festival Guide magazine and Ozcat Vallejo Community Radio.

The doors are open at 4pm, and the non-stop dance music goes from 5 to 11pm. This all-ages event will be fun for the whole family with Caribbean food, Rasta arts & crafts vendors, wine and beer garden, plus a raffle for a chance to win a hot air balloon ride.

Headlining the show is Barbadian singer, songwriter DAVID KIRTON. His newest album ‘Time for Change‘ got three nods from the Barbados Music Awards winning Reggae Artist of Year, Reggae Song of Year and Best video with his hot track “Green Camouflage”.

Miami’s Caribbean Today wrote, “Kirton has struck the right chord. He brings to the marketplace a refreshingly unique aura—satisfying the mainstream audience, especially those who crave something new.” The UK’s Sunday Mercury’s Paul Cole wrote ‘Already a triple award-winner in the Caribbean, the new album from Barbadian balladeer Kirton has the crossover appeal to break him big in the mainstream charts‘.

The Canadian National Campus Review backed that up with ‘He (Kirton) has busted out of the box with this, his third album, by blending elements of reggae, soul, rock and pop into a contemporary yet natural sound, which he then delivers with his exotically smooth, soul dipped voice‘.
