WANTED: 2 Stupid would-be Bank Robbers in Santo Domingo, suspected to have failed audition of “ARMORED”
It was definitely not so lovely the day after Valentine’s for two bungling heist-men in the Dominican Republic. On Monday, two armed men stole an armored car that was carrying valuable items, including currency, and later left it abandoned at the corner of Alma Mater and George Washington avenues.
They had stolen the truck at the Bella Vista Mall when they took advantage of a momentary lapse in security by the driver and his front seat helper.
The problem, for the thieves, was that they did not notice that there was one other armed guard in the back of the truck belonging to G4S Transport Company.
When the thieves realized what had happened they tried to shoot him but were unsuccessful, and by that time the Police was already closing in. The third guard had rendered the truck inoperable, so they left the truck in the street and took off on foot up Alma Mater Avenue.
This, of course, created an enormous traffic jam. The truck was then searched by the Forensic Police (CSI) to collect evidence that could lead to identifying the 2 men.
