Foods and Spices of Barbados are latest culinary trends in the UK – Hot commodity, literally!

Aunt-May-PJellyThe UK is developing a taste for Bajan food. Brands such as WIBISCO biscuits, Tortuga Rum Cake and Aunt May’s Pepper Jelly are just a few examples of products now in popular demand according to Taste of Bardados.

Bajans are passionate about their food, as it is a great way of involving family and community. Therefore it?s hardly surprising that anyone who has visited Barbados or eaten at a Caribbean restaurant wants to create the same food experience at home. ASDA is just one store chain already dedicating shelf space to Caribbean products, and it seems only a matter of time before a wider range of Barbados brands will be appearing on the shelf at other supermarkets,” comments Peter Martin, Managing Director of Taste of Bardados.

The surge in interest in Caribbean food has created a new food trend in the UK. Gourmets are now crying out for traditional sauces, seasonings jams and jellies so they can enjoy Bajan cuisine in the UK.
