The film tells the story of a reluctant hero who embarks on a journey of redemption, discovery and unexpected love – much like “Dances With Wolves” from Kevin Costner. Zoe also was Uhura in JJ Abrams‘ reboot of Star Trek.

The film, which premiered last week, is one of Hollywood’s most talked about movies of the moment.

Saldana is receiving critical acclaim for the facial expressions of her Avatar character. Unlike Sammy Sosa, Zoe prefers her skin’s natural hue, could have been worse – she could have aimed for the Na’Vi’s blue pelts.

The film is expected to open soon in Dominican theaters.

  1. Did not know Saldana’s heritage was Dominican, I liked her performance in Star Trek. I hope to see Avatar this weekend.
