“COLLAGE” (click on picture for higher resolution) is a local group art exhibition featuring the more recent works of some of Barbados? best. Seventeen artists represented in painting, ceramics, wood, coral stone, print-making and photography give their impressions of the island they work in and call home. This mixed media exhibition highlights the diverse artistic skills and expressions alive in Barbados.
As we celebrate our 43rd year of Independence this month, we can be proud of this diversity in our visual arts and our cultural heritage. We indeed have a lot to celebrate and to be grateful for.This show will run for two months, and will be an evolving show, with new works being added as the current ones are sold. Featured artists include Alison Chapman-Andrews, Bill Grace, Leslie Taylor, Winston Kellman, Ann Dodson, Ras Ilix Heartman, Nigel Pierre, Christine Taylor, Arlette St. Hill, Nakazzi, Aurelia Walcott, Cy Hutchinson, Gordon Webster, Juliana Inniss, Lilian Sten, Chris Martelly and John Walcott.The opening of Collage will be this Saturday 7th November 2009, at 6pm.The exhibition runs until December 31st, 2009 at Aweipo Gallery, The Crane Village, The Crane St. Philip.
