The Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) presents – “Bridging the Gap” FREE ENTRY!
It will be a day of fun and excitement when The Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) presents their annual Elders Appreciation Day on Saturday September 26, 2009 at Girls Guides headquarters Belmont Road
The theme for the event is “Bridging the Gap” and to do this BARP is having a fun fair which incorporates Bajan traditions from the past with those of the present.
Those attending will have a chance to take part in old Bajan games like Hop scotch, Chinese skip and more, plus newer games of skill. Barbadiana specialist Addington Forde will be teaching how to play Warri.
An archival video display will also be on show.
Another unique feature of the day will be the chance to win a prizes every hour. There will be jumping tents, clowns and face painting. The Royal Barbados Police Force will be doing a presentation on crime prevention plus health concious displays will be there.
Entertainment will be by Carolyn Leacock, Barbados Landship, Poonka and Ruk-a-Tuk International and more. Food and drinks will be on sale but admission is free. “Bridging the Gap” in celebration of Senior Citizens month starts at 10 am and finishes at 5 pm, this will be a day for the entire family.
