Tonya, a proud Barbados Scholar, has returned to the island after pursuing her Bachelor (Honours) Degree in Fine Art: Painting at a prestigious university in London called Wimbledon College of Art. She has hosted and participated in a number of exhibitions in the heart of the London?s art capital. Both Art Collectors and Art Galleries in London quickly noticed her skill and witty inventiveness, and took ownership of her work as an investment into her colourful future ahead.

She continues to maintain tight connections with London and will be travelling with her work in the near future. Tonya is excited by the challenge of keeping the art scene in Barbados intriguing, fresh, and accessible to both creative and noncreative
minds here.

Hide and Seek proposes a playful approach to the way we view art.

Maybe it?s not about understanding a painting but experiencing it.

Maybe it?s not about looking at a sculpture but playing with it.

Maybe it?s not about the work presented but the people who come to see it.

Maybe it is about hiding and seeking.

Hiding traditional and cultural understanding of art.

Seeking inventiveness, creativity and challenge.
