Prickly Bay Waterside To Help Keep American Airlines Flying To Grenada

Prickly Bay Waterside has made a commitment to assist the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association with air transportation. Prickly Bay Waterside made this commitment to help over the Christmas period after a request from the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association for members to contribute towards the bond used as a guarantee for American Airlines flight service to Grenada.

In making the commitment, Sales and Marketing Director Keith Devenport said that Prickly Bay Waterside, though not a hotel, will make a contribution to show strong support for Grenada?s tourism product.

?We?at Prickly Bay Waterside want to see the tourism product get stronger and more competitive. Our homes are not typical hotel rooms that depend on large numbers of arrivals. The purchasers in our development have the option to rent their unit, if they desire. This sponsorship is more about our commitment to Grenada,? Devenport said.

Waterside has committed ten thousand US dollars to the GHTA for the American Airlines bond. The money is expected to be transferred to the GHTA fund in the next few days.

The resort has also been sponsoring the Grenada Board of Tourism Airport Meet and Greet. This year the Meet and Greet is being extended throughout the winter tourist season as a result of the Prickly Bay Waterside sponsorship.

Prickly Bay will officially launch its completed luxury homes and apartments in February 2009 with a grand launch party. Prickly Bay Waterside will be one of the first new five star developments to open in Grenada.
