Grenadian Tourism Minister attends Antigua Charter Show 2008 ? works with Marina Operators to increase Spice Isle visitors

Camper & Nicholsons Marina has been receiving excellent feedback from its presence at the recently concluded Antigua Charter Yacht Show which was held in December 2008. The marina has already been getting booking and inquiries from contacts made during the Charter Show.

Marina representatives attended the Yacht Charter Show to promote Port Louis and to make participants more aware of Grenada. This year’s show was special for Camper & Nicholsons as a specially invited guest was part of the promotional team. The company?s Marketing Manager Danny Donelan was joined by Minister of Tourism Hon. Peter David at the Charter Show.

Donelan said it was a real pleasure to have Minister David at the show; “[The Minister’s] presence at the show signalled how serious Grenada is about developing the yachting industry. We met some of the most influential persons in the industry and they were impressed to see Government and the private sector working together for the benefit of the industry.”

The Camper & Nicholsons team met and showcased Grenada and the Port Louis Marina to some of the world’s most influential yacht brokers, international press, yacht builders and mega yacht captains.

Commenting on the show, Minister David remarked on the importance of yachting in Grenada; Government intends to place tremendous emphasis on the yachting sector. We have recognised it as one of our most important niches and we intend to work with Camper & Nicholsons and others in the industry to develop a vibrant and viable industry. Government knows that yachting will not only bring more tourists to Grenada but will also create many high value jobs and businesses which our people can take advantage of.”

General Manager of Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina, Clyde Rawls consistently mentions how [the Tillman] Government has played an important role in the success of the marina. Rawls said, “We fully appreciate the help we have received from Government. We see Government as an important partner in the overall success of this project. We look forward to the continuation of our excellent relationship.?
