Not so long ago, this News-Blog had commented on the plight of former Hastings businesses in Christ Church which dwindled to nothing… Well, the process to even remember they existed has started – the Flamboyant restaurant has now been torn down! Li’l Rick rules – “Mash Up an’ Buy Back!” huh?
Here’s what was left of it? Can only hope the ex-florist and video stores may be restored in some way…
Now this is what you see if you stand backing the coastline and look towards the Garrison, this area where I got the shot is on the same side as the entrance to the former Beaumont Guest House and?Amaryllis resort;-
But all that matters is that cars in the area have somewhere to park, right? At least the tree is still standing, thank God, let’s hope it stays that way!
Rather appropriately, I understand some Barbadians and UK-expats are forming an alliance to educate Bajans on the history they’re losing and the lecture/exhibition should be happening by the middle of next month, the Bajan Reporter will keep you posted!
