Grenada is receiving excellent reviews from one of the world?s top travel agencies. In October 2008, Savvy Grenada invited ten travel agents from Liberty travel to Grenada on a familiarization trip. Liberty Travel, one of the largest travel agencies in the industry, sent some of their top agents to view the Mount Cinnamon development, Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina and other sites and attractions right across Grenada. While in Grenada the travel agents traveled to the popular tourism sites and also met with hoteliers and other tourism industry officials.

The agents have now reported that they have a better understanding of Grenada as a tourist destination and will be better able to market it in the United States. Resident Director of Savvy Grenada, Mr. Richard Hallam in commenting on the trip said he was pleased at the wide cross section of Grenada the agents were able to see. ?Liberty is one of the top travel agencies in the United States. Having a group from Liberty here is highly significant. We have already been seeing preliminary results which suggest that this trip will be beneficial to Grenada. We at Savvy Grenada are proud to continue working with the Board of Tourism and our other partners here in Grenada in an effort to improve the quality of our tourism.?

Another factor which Hallam thinks is important is the now increased airlift from the United States. ?This trip could not come at a better time,? Hallam stated. ?Just weeks after we host one of the top agencies in the US, a non stop daily service to Miami with onward connections across the United States on American Airlines has started. This means that these very influential agents who were just here can now recommend and promote Grenada with greater confidence. They have seen the quality of the product we offer first hand, and now they will have the benefit of easy air access as another plus for Grenada. I think things are coming together nicely.?
