Mobile Telecommunications Expert Takes the Helm Ahead of Nationwide Launch – RAUL BURGOS APPOINTED CEO OF DIGICEL PANAMA
Digicel, the largest mobile operator in the Caribbean and recent entrant to the Central American market, has today announced the appointment of Raul Burgos as Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Panama S.A. de C.V ahead of its imminent launch in Panama. As CEO of Digicel Panama, Raul will be responsible for successfully developing Digicel into a significant and competitive player in the mobile telecommunications market.

Digicel is committed to stimulating growth in both mobile markets by increasing mobile penetration within the next five years to 90 per cent. Panama has a population of more than 3.4 million people with mobile penetration currently at just 71 percent.

“Digicel?s launch will at last herald true competition in the Panamanian mobile market. The people of Panama can look forward to a new level of service, value and choice under Raul?s leadership. Digicel is excited about becoming a major player in the Panamanian community,? said Donal O’Shaughnessy, CEO of Digicel’s Central American operations.
Speaking from Panama City today, newly appointed Digicel Panama CEO, Raul Burgos, added, “We are very excited to be approaching our launch in Panama.
