Just got some interesting news from a group you usually find on my CD player (they also offer an opinion on the B’dos Music Awards that holds no surprise for me, that so-called gala still has a long way to go before it truly gains quality status) – –

Barbados’ top alternative duo Kite have had some really cool stuff happen this year, and some really big things happening for the band next year as well.

Their work this year in particular has been good for Bajan artists, by how they demonstrated that with many publishing/licensing opportunities in Hollywood, and just about every prime-time network in North America and many countries around the world is a positive step for the music industry in Barbados regardless of genre.

However, there has been NO mention of this at the upcoming Barbados Music Awards and the group think that’s a shame for the Barbados Music Industry… Should not all achievements being made by ALL Bajan artists that are CONTRIBUTING to the music industry on an international level be highlighted?

Kite are currently Recording an EP, and participating as delegates to MIDEM to represent for the Barbados music industry in Canne, France with the Invest Barbados office.

Also Kite will be opening for James Blunt at the 2009 Barbados Jazz Festival.
