Stanford Super Series: England Legends ready for ‘showdown on the sand’

Fans and players alike will take a quick break from all the action before the Stanford 20/20 for 20 with a day at the beach, when the Stanford Legends host an English Legends selection giving spectators the chance to rub shoulders with some of the heroes of English and West Indies cricket.

The stars of the past will meet again in a sun-drenched showdown with two ten-overs-per-side contests at Jolly Beach on the west coast of Antigua, one of the most desirable coastal locations in the world. The Stanford black bats will also be making their debut at the beach accompanied by a DJ, other live entertainment for spectators and appearances by all of the teams involved in the Stanford Super Series.

Speaking before his team was due to depart for Antigua tomorrow, Allan Lamb, captain of the England Legends side confirmed that all of the players were looking forward to playing their part in the inaugural Stanford Super Series:

?All of the England Legends are ready for the challenge and are very excited about playing at such an idyllic location. When you take a closer look the great names on the West Indies team it?s clear that this event really will be a unique occasion and a great opportunity to see some of these guys in action. I hope that all the supporters who are in Antigua for the Stanford Super Series come down to the beach for what will be a fun afternoon of cricket and entertainment,? he said.

The first of two ?Beach 10?s? matches begins at 11:30am tomorrow/Friday. To secure a good position on the beach to see all the action spectators are urged to make their way to the beach early and to take advantage of the park and ride transport provided.
