Stanford 20/20 endorse Courtney Walsh?s candidacy for presidency of the Jamaica Cricket Association

Sir Allen Stanford, originator and Chairman of Stanford 20/20 is pleased to endorse the candidacy of legendary former West Indies captain Ambassador Courtney Walsh for the presidency of the Jamaica Cricket Association.

?I believe that it would be of tremendous benefit to Jamaican and West Indian cricket for a man of Courtney?s indisputable character and calibre to be at the helm of an important regional cricket body at this time when regional cricket is in desperate need of strong and able leadership.

?As a director of Stanford 20/20 and a Stanford Superstars selector, we have benefited from his immense knowledge and leadership capacity and I hope that the cricketing fraternity in Jamaican embraces a man who possesses the rare combination of cricketing accomplishment and proven leadership,? said Sir Allen.

President of Stanford 20/20, Andrea Stoelker also commented on Ambassador Walsh?s leadership capacity and suitability to lead Jamaica?s cricket.

?We have worked with Courtney for several years and we have always found his advice and counsel most useful, he has enormous experience on the field and has proven himself a success off the field as well,? said Ms Stoelker.

Walsh, the former world record holder for the most wickets in Test cricket, played 132 Test matches and 205 One Day Internationals.

  1. As West Indies fans we looking forward to more contributions from Walsh and the other legends.

We only hope that the powers that be would recognise that all of our legends have a role to play.
