Everyone is always accusing Barbados of becoming a Trinidadian subsidiary – what with C’bean Commercial Bank changing to RBTT; the B’dos Nat’l Bank now belongs to T&T; so is Accra Beach Hotel, etc. The Bajan Government has decided to put paid to this nonsense by claiming the Turks & Caicos Islands!

That’s right, we timed it perfectly, as Caicosites(?) bunkered down for Hurricane Ike, a Category 4 system, the BDF performed a bloodless coup and made these little bits of rock our very own… You think I’m pulling a fast one huh? Don’t take my word for it, here’s a Brit online daily who states the Turks are now Bajan?

All along the US Atlantic coast storm warnings were issued as people faced downpours from Hanna and prepared for the arrival of Hurricane Ike.

Tourists fled the Barbadian islands of Turks and Caicos yesterday, as Ike rumbled towards them. If the storm continues on its current trajectory, those left on the islands are likely to face the full blast this morning.

As forecasters predicted, Ike has grown from to category 3 to 4, in advance of its landfall on US shores some time tomorrow morning. Based on its current trajectory, it is likely to hit eastern Cuba before arriving in Florida.

So there you are, Trinidad may own our businesses (But why are we objecting, when it’s all part of CSME – hey, ya mean Barbados should do the same?), but we have – by right of acclamation {BTW? JK, JK, JK!} – owned the Turks & Caicos… Not that that idea is so bad, after all – their leader is a pretty cool fella, LMAO!
