When Meredith Brooks originally came out with this hit, they never said the name of the song – they just listed her at position number whatever on the charts… Then Mel Gibson made the song cool about 2 years later in “What Women Want” – where a male chauvinist pig happens on to an ability that even any sensitive metrosexual would give their last squab of moisturiser to possess!

However, the B-word has had its share of misuse, in the hip-hop of Compton to the dancehall of St Catherine… When a white-boy comes along and adopts the word like he’s been flingin’ it all day long then you beggin’ for trouble –

The Travel Channel [defended] its Emmy-nominated program host, Anthony Bourdain’s, use of the B-word when describing dancehall reggae on the Jamaica episode of “No Reservations.”

“In reviewing both the claim and the episode, it is clear that Anthony Bourdain’s comments were not directed at any individuals,” James Ashurst, vice president of communications, told Redding News Review. “Rather, they were an observation regarding the tone of the lyrics he and his crew had experienced. The Travel Channel stands by the program as it was presented.”

Bourdain has been under fire ever since Redding News Review reported … that Bourdain used the B-word in a narration describing dancehall reggae on the program’s Jamaica episode.
